As concerns escalate over the imminent execution of Hamid Hosseinzadeh Haydaranlou, a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death, his family has organized a protest outside the Central Prison of Wirmê (Urumia) since this morning.

In a video recently obtained by the Kurdistan Human Rights Association-Geneva Hamid Hosseinzadeh's wife can be seen confronting military personnel outside the prison, in a final desperate pleading to defend her husband in seeking justice: "You are executing innocent people; what are your evidence? Show us your evidence! Why won't you acknowledge this? I won't leave , I won't leave, I won't leave. You must show the evidence. I will not move from here”

These words represent the anguished plea of a family that, over the past two years, has faced denial and indifference to their legal requests and evidence, now standing resolutely in front of the prison in hopes of halting the execution.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdistan Human Rights Association-Geneva, security forces are attempting to compel the Hosseinzadeh family to leave the location and are physically obstructing the persistence of this peaceful gathering. The source also confirmed that several mobile phones belonging to the family members present at the site have been confiscated by military personnel to prevent the recording of the event.

Simultaneously, in a parallel effort to halt the execution, the father of the Hosseinzadeh family has sought to meet with the “Sunni Friday Prayer Imam” in Wirmê (Urumia) since last night to request assistance in saving his son's life. However, as of the time of this report, this meeting has yet to take place.

This gathering and the reactions from the community come just hours before the scheduled execution of Hamid Hosseinzadeh a sentence that has been met with widespread legal criticism and clear evidence of innocence, including his official presence in Turkey at the time of the alleged incident.
