On April 29, 2025, nine days after the announcement of the execution of Hamid HosseinNejad Heydarlo, a Kurdish political prisoner by “Fars” news agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC), his body has reportedly been coercively disappeared by the government. Judicial and administrative officials have obscured the time and place of the execution, and to date, they have withheld the death certificate and any evidence regarding the burial location and execution site from the family.

According to a source familiar with the situation, nine days following the execution report of Hamid HosseinNejad Heydarlo, the relevant judicial, security, and administrative institutions have refused to provide the family with the body, death certificate, burial site, or any evidence confirming the execution of Hamid HosseinNejad Heydarlo.

This source indicated that on Saturday, April 26, 2025, the HosseinNejad family was summoned to the Urmia Intelligence Office via phone call to appear on April 28, 2025. They were told, "Do not seek the body; go back to your lives." The family’s inquiries for evidence and documentation regarding the execution and burial site, even a photograph, were denied, security personnel instructing the family not to even attempt to seek the body under any circumstances.

Regarding the death certificate, the source noted that the family went to the Civil Registry Office in Chaldoran to obtain it, but they were informed that no orders for issuing a death certificate had been received. Additionally, the Urmia Civil Registry Office has not taken responsibility in this matter, stating that the issue of a death certificate falls under the jurisdiction of the Chaldoran Registry Office, and they should refer there.

The body of Hamid HosseinNejad Heydarloo reportedly subjected to coercively disappeared following the news of the execution published by the Fars news agency at 10:54 PM on April 21, 2025 (which was initially shared on the agency’s Telegram channel and later on its website). While the agency, without specifying the time and location of the execution, announced, "This news was conveyed to the HosseinNejad family same day by the relevant authorities in West Azerbaijan Province," the Urmia Revolutionary Court had, shortly thereafter, informed the family of the execution by phone. Meanwhile, the news agency did not address the issue of the body and provided no information regarding whether it will or will not be delivered to the family.

In keeping with this coverup by the judicial and security authorities, security forces from the Intelligence Services office in Urmia informed the family regarding Hamid HosseinNejad's body and the holding of mourning ceremonies after the news was disseminated by “Fars”, stating, "Go about your business; there is no body," and, "You do not have the right to hold a funeral or mourning ceremony." Consequently, the family returned from Urmia to Chaldoran, their place of residence, to conduct private memorial service.

In this regard, informed sources have reported to Kurdistan Human Rrights Association-Geneva, that following the announcement of his execution, the HosseinNejad family has been closely monitored and pressured by security agencies to prevent public mourning ceremonies and inhibit public participation. Additionally, while publishing mourning announcements is a customary practice in Iran, the family was not allowed to publish such announcements. Thus, the mourning for Hamid HosseinNejad Heydarlo was conducted privately under pressure and threats from security forces, and public service was obstructed.

This informed source further noted that the intimidation of the HosseinNejad family continued upon their return to Chaldoran. They faced recurrent threats prohibiting any public memorial ceremony. Moreover, several family members, including Ronahi HosseinNejad, the eldest daughter of Hamid HosseinNejad Heydarlo, have been threatened with arrest due to the publishing a video pleading for justice.
