Kurdistan/Iran; Uncertainty over the fate of a Kurdish civilian Six days after arbitrary arrest

On Tuesday, April 14, 2025, Awat Babakhani a Kurdish civilian from Diwandere(Divandere) was arrested by Iranian security forces and transferred to an unknown location.


According to a source familiar with the situation reported to Kurdistan Human Rights Association-Geneva, Mr. Babakhani, was detained on Tuesday at a local dry cleaning without a judicial warrant. six days later, there is no information available regarding his fate.


At the time of this report the reasons for his arrest, the charges brought against him, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
