Kurdistan/Iran; Two Kurdish inmates on death row executed at karaj central penitentiary

In the early hours of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the death sentences of two Kurdish prisoners, Rahim Amiri and Amir Ebrahimi, both from Harsin in Kermashan Province, were carried out at Karaj Central Penitentiary.

The two inmates had been transferred to solitary confinement on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in preparation for the implementation of their executions.

Rahim Amiri was arrested approximately seven years ago, and Amir Ebrahimi about six years ago, in two separate cases. Both were convicted by the Iranian judiciary on drug trafficking and sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially confirmed or reported by Iranian state media or judicial authorities.
