Kurdistan/Iran; Mamosta Luqman Amini was arrested following his visit to the Special Clergy Court in Hamadan

On Monday, April 21, 2025, Mamosta Luqman Amini, a Kurdish “Friday Prayer lmam” of the “Chwar-Yar-Nabi(Chahar Yar Nabi) mosque in Sine (Sanandaj), was detained after appearing at the Special Clergy Court in Hamadan.


This Kurdish cleric was previously summoned to appear at the Special Clergy Court on April 21st.


In June 2023, Mamosta Luqman Amini was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment, a two years exile to Ardabil, permanent deposition of vestment, and ban from delivering Friday sermons for alleged charges of "propaganda against the regime , possession of a fire arm, incitement to riot and unrest, and supporting for the protests during “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Woman, Life, Freedom).


On Monday, January 31, 2023, Mamosta Luqman Amini was arrested by Iranian security forces on the road to Mariwan(Marivan) without a judicial order. He was temporarily released on Wednesday, February 22, 2013, after posting bail until the conclusion of the legal proceedings.
