Kurdistan/Iran; Kurdish teenager arbitrarily detained by the Iranian security forces

On Sunday, April 20, 2025, Ehsan Hamzehzadeh a Kurdish teenager, from Bokan, was arrested by security forces and subsequently transferred to the Urmia Rehabilitation and Correction Facility after completing the interrogation process.


According to an informed source, the security forces apprehended this 17 years old teenager without presenting a judicial warrant.


This source added that on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, this Kurdish adolescent was moved to the Wirmê (Urmia) Rehabilitation and Correction Facility following the conclusion of his interrogation.


Ehsan Hamzehzadeh is from the village of Qalwe, currently residing in Mirawa in Bokan county, and is a Junior student at the Mearaj High School.


As of the time of this report, specific information regarding the reasons for his arrest and the charges against him remains unknown.
