In the early hours of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the death penalty of Yousef Esmaeili, a Kurdish prisoner from Sardasht, was carried out in the Central Prison of Bandar Abbas.
Mr. Esmaeili was arrested three years ago on charges of drug trafficking and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
He was married and the father of two children.
As of this moment, no official Iranian authorities or domestic media outlets have reported or confirmed his execution.
