Kurdistan/Iran; Kurdish Momosta (cleric) Sentenced to 22 Months in Prison by the judiciary of the Islamic republic of Iran

On Wednesday April 22, 2025, Mamosta Saber Khodamradi, the Friday imam of the Qwex(ghovekh) district in Saqez, was sentenced to 22 months of imprisonment following his summon and appearance at the Special Clergy Court in Hamedan.


This Kurdish cleric on his way returning to Saqez, the court ruling was communicated, and he has given 20 days to appeal the verdict.


In recent days, Mamosta Saber Khodamradi had been summoned by the Special Clergy Court in Hamedan.


In September 2024, this Kurdish cleric was sentenced to 15 months of imprisonment on charges of "propaganda against the regime," following a phone call from the Special Clergy Court in Hamedan.


In September 2024, Mamosta Saber Khodamradi was also summoned to the Special Clergy Court in Hamedan.


On Sunday, April 29, 2023, this Kurdish cleric was sentenced by the Special Clergy Court in Hamedan to seven and a half months of suspended imprisonment and 74 lashes, to be carried out within three years, on charges of "propaganda against the regime" and "public intoxication."


On Wednesday, April 24, 2023, this cleric was summoned for a third time to the Special Clergy Court in Hamedan for supporting the “Jin, Jian, Azadi” movement in his Friday prayer sermons.
