Kurdistan/Iran; Kurdish civilian taken prison to serve his sentence for alleged connection with Kurdish opposition parties

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Milad Naseri, from the village of Kanirash in Bokan, was detained and transferred to prison to begin serving his sentence.


According to an informed source, Mr. Naseri had previously been sentenced to one year and six months in prison by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court in Bokan for "collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties."


On Thursday, October 7, 2024, Milad Naseri was temporarily released from detention after posting bail of 400 million tomans.


Mr. Naseri had been interrogated at the Intelligence detention center in Bokan and was transferred to the juvenile hall of the local prison upon the conclusion of the interrogation process.


On Wednesday, October 24, 2024, Milad Naseri was arbitrarily arrested by Iranian security forces in the village of Kanirash without a warrant.
