Two weeks after the arrest of Samerand wojoudi, a Kurdish resident of Mahabad, his whereabouts and legal status remain unknown.

According to a reliable source, Mr. Wojoudi was transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Department in Urmia for interrogation and has so far been permitted only a single phone call to his family.

The source added that wojoudi has been denied access to legal counsel and has not been allowed any family visits during his detention.

His arrest followed the holding of a wedding ceremony in Bokan, during which guests were dressed in traditional Kurdish khaki attire. In the aftermath, the father of the bride was arrested in Bokan, and in the early hours on Friday, May 9, 2025, two other individuals, Ali Daneshi and Samerand wojoudi were violently assaulted and detained in Mahabad by Iranian security forces without the presenting warrant.

Additionally, dozens of local residents reportedly received threatening phone calls and summoned to the Intelligence agency Office. In addition, security forces raided the residence of Kawe and Loghman Salek overnight, confiscated all Kurdish clothing, mobile phones, identification documents, and bank cards.
