Kurdistan/Iran: Clandestine execution of a Kurdish political prisoner Despite the widespread controversy surrounding his trial

The death sentence for Hamid Hosseinzadeh Heydaranlou, a Kurdish political prisoner, was carried out without the knowledge of his family and at an undisclosed location prior to the execution.


On April 21, 2025, the “Fars News” Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC), reported that the death sentence of Hamid Hosseinzadeh Heydaranlou has been implemented.


The Wirmê (Urumia) Revolutionary Court has informed the family that the execution order has been carried out. However, there has been no information regarding the whereabouts of his body or the disposition of the body to the family, and the location where the sentence was implemented remains unknown.
