Kurdistan/Iran; a Kurdish civilian released on bail after months in arbitrary detention

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, Chiya Nasrollahi, from Mahabad was temporarily released from the local prison upon the posting of bail after months of arbitrary detention and interrogation.


According to an informed source, Mr. Nasrollahi was transferred to the central prison in Mahabad after completing the interrogation process and was released temporarily after posting a bail of five billion tomans.


On Sunday, December 15, 2024, Iranian security forces arrested Mr. Nasrollahi at his workplace in the "Bri Shilanan" neighborhood in Mahabad without presenting any judicial warrant.


Up to now, there has been no precise information emerged regarding the reasons for Mr. Nasrollahi's arrest or the charges brought against him.
