Kurdistan/Iran; A Civil Activist Sentenced to Eight Months in Prison by the Iranian judiciary

Qane’ Khatari, a civil activist from Sine(Sanandaj), has been sentenced to eight months of imprisonment, on the charge of “propaganda against the regime” by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, by presiding Judge Mostafa Azizi.


On Thursday, February 22, 2025, Mr. Khatari was temporarily released from Central Prison in Sine(Sanandaj) after posting bail of 500 million Iranian tomans.


Following the completion of his interrogation, he was transferred from the detention facility of the Intelligence Services in Sanandaj to the central prison.


Mr. Khatari was arrested by security forces on Thursday, February 8, 2025, without presentating a judicial warrant.


Earlier, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, he was summoned to the Intelligence services Office, where he was interrogated for several hours before being released.


Mr. Khatari has a history of previous arrests and convictions related to his activism.
