Kurdistan: Discriminatory shooting by Iranian government forces left a Kurdish civilian severely wounded

On the evening of Saturday, April 12, 2025, Mohammad Salehi, a Kurdish civilian residing in the village of "Bikash" in Baneh, sustained severe injuries due to arbitrary and discriminatory gunfire from Iranian border guards at the borders of Baneh. He is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.


According to an informed source afiliasted to Kurdistan Human Rights Association in Geneva, Iranian armed forces opened fire on Mr. Salehi without prior warning while he was at the "Zhaleh" border in Baneh.


Mohammad Salehi was critically injured from gunshot wounds to his head and back and is hospitalized in the intensive care unit of one of the hospitals in Sine (Sanandaj).


Mohammad Salehi is married and has children.
