Female civil activist from Dehgolan-Kurdistan, has been summoned to Branch 102 of the Criminal Court under the charge of "propagating in favor of Kurdish oppositions"

According to the summon issued on May 11, 2025, she is required to appear in court on June 24, 2025, to present her final defenses.


On Tuesday, March 19, 2025, Soheila Motaei was temporarily released from custody after posting a bail of one billion tomans. She had been under interrogation at the Intelligence detention center in Sine(Sanandaj).

On Monday, March 12, 2025, Soheila Motaei was arrested by Iranian security forces for connection with celebrating the International Women's Day in Sine.


Ms. Motaei, who was previously arrested during the "Jin, Jian, Azadi" (Women, Life, Freedom) movement, was detained again on January 23, 2024, while leaving her participating a general strike against the death penalty. She was temporarily released on the same day after her court file was initiated.


Throughout the ongoing revolutionary movement, Soheila Motaei has been arrested twice and sentenced to imprisonment. Initially, she was detained on October 1, 2023, by security forces and released on October 17, 2023, after posting bail. She was subsequently detained once again on November 12, 2023, and, following the completion of her interrogation period, transferred to the “Correction and Rehabilitation Center” in Sine..


Ultimately, on December 5, 2023, she was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment for "disturbing public order," 15 months for "propaganda against the regime," 13 months for "misleading the public through dissemination," 5 months for "none compliance with officials," and 9 months for "propagating in favor of Kurdish oppositions” by Branch 2 of the Dehgolan Criminal Court. According to the concurrent sentences law, the 18-month imprisonment term is enforceable and will be imposed.


Soheila Motaei had been tried in a court hearing that lasted only a few minutes via videoconference.
