Bokan: authorities in Iran brutally assaulted a Kurdish Language lecturer and taken him into custody

In the early hours of Monday, May 26, 2025, Semko Yousefi, a Kurdish language lecturer from the village of “Slamet”, in rural district of Bokan, was arrested by Iranian security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to an informed source, the security forces raided Mr. Yousefi’s residence in the Mirawa neighborhood in Bokan without presenting a judicial warrant, assaulted and detained him.

As of the time of this report, no information regarding the reasons for Mr. Yousefi’s arrest or the charges brought against him has been disclosed.
